A House is Reborn and Desigual’s New Moves

Miramax’s Harvey Weinstein, the American film producer and studio mogul, has announced that he has agreed to license, with an option to buy, the Charles James fashion house. The late British born designer Charles James, known as America’s first couturier, has been the focus of renewed attention in the fashion world following the Anna Wintour curated retrospective of his work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Speaking about the rebirth of the defunct house, Harvey Weinstein enthused at how thrilled he was to be involved with the process of the brands revival and expressed his desire for the new Charles James to take its rightful place in the showrooms of the world’s finest retailers.

New Shoe Chain from Desigual

Spanish casual clothing brand Desigual, known for its bold use of colour and print, is set to launch a chain of shoe stores with the first already open in Madrid and plans to open another in the Spanish capital followed by two in Barcelona in quick succession. Like Desigual’s clothing line the new footwear embodies an animated spirit, with shoes cast in color saturated hues and adorned with psychedelic patterns. The move is part of Desigual’s diversification strategy, which has seen the high street retailer expand into accessories and home textiles alongside its new shoe venture.

Tiffany & Co Come to Paris

Famous for its luxury goods and particularly renowned for its coveted diamond jewelry, the American jewelry house has opened a flagship store on the iconic Champs Elysees Boulevard in the heart of Paris. The opening of the mammoth 10,000 square-foot space, 3 floor spanning flagship marks a new milestone in Tiffany’s on-going connection to the city.
