Burberry Wows with a Colorful Spring/Summer 2015

Christopher Bailey unveiled his new collection for Spring/Summer 2015, “The Birds and the Bees,” on the Burberry Prorsum runway during London Fashion Week. The show was held under a huge marquee in Kensington Park.

Featuring a live performance by British singer-songwriter James Bay, the runway was opened by Kenyan-born Malaika Firth and closed by Julia Bergshoeff of the Netherlands, featuring hot models of the moment Jourdan Dunn and Suki Waterhouse on the way.

The collection showcased sheer dresses, a flotilla of flowery prints, ruched and tiered tulle skirts and dresses, tiny shearling and cropped denim jackets, and unique linen trenches and trench coats.

The preferred length of skirt for next year remains the midi skirt, and footwear is a whole lot more comfortable for the Burberry woman, with sneakers and flat sandals featuring strongly all around. It was a gorgeous, colorful show, and a big win in the British fashion stakes.

Celebrities in the famed front row included singer Faith, off-duty models Cara Delevigne and Kate Moss, and Peruvian fashion photographer Mario Testino. Delevigne and Moss are both currently the campaign faces for the new My Burberry fragrance line.

In other Burberry news, Romeo Beckham, 12-year-old second son of mega-celebrities David and Victoria, is set to star in the brand’s Christmas campaign. It’s not his first tie-in with the brand, though—he made his modeling debut with the fashion house’s 2013 campaign at the tender age of 10.
