Stella McCartney and Kate Moss Raise Breast Cancer Awareness

Leaves are slowly changing colors, Halloween is just around the corner, October is here. But October is not only the time of the year when we finally get to wear coats again, it also is breast cancer awareness month.

British fashion designer Stella McCartney, who lost her mother Linda to the cruel disease in 1998, supports the cause with her very own lingerie design. The feminine set comes as an all-pink version of the Gemma Relaxing range with a balconette and soft-cup bra (£50), as well as a matching brief (£27).

To further boost the campaign, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot English supermodel Kate Moss wearing the Gemma Relaxing bra, along with a cheekily placed breast cancer awareness ribbon. The image will be used to support the campaign on the designer's website and on social media platforms.

“I wanted to remind women that when they wear this set – the first thing they put on in the morning – to keep on top of their health and visit their doctor regularly,” McCartney explains on her homepage.

A percentage of profits from the sales will be donated to the Linda McCartney Centre in Liverpool, UK, which was founded two years after the 43-year-old fashion designer's mother passed away.

The collection will be available at stellamccartney.com, Stella McCartney stores and select department stores worldwide.
