Julien Macdonald London Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014

Firstly, to the front row it was a Strictly fest with Vanessa Feltz and his dance partner Janette Manrara, who he revealed has told him to "do more than tone up" in order to get in shape for the show's gruelling dance rehearsals - so he's running three times a week and drinking green juices.

Despite Janette's tough regime, the pair were all smiles backstage - even doing a little ballroom pose for the cameras.

On the front row, we had Abbey Clancy, Rosie Fortescue, Anna Kendrick, Paloma Faith, Pixie Lott and Eliza Doolittle - who all looked on in awe in the opulent Goldsmith's hall ballroom as models walked down the runway in Julien's red carpet-ready dresses.

Whatever the trends are, Julien Macdonald can always be relied upon to dazzle with sparkly, glamorous and ultra-sexy dresses.

Models at Julien Macdonald London Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014 show were decked out in little numbers or flowing gowns designed to flaunt and wow in the unabashedly glamorous show.

Macdonald doesn't do subtlety, and the only toned-down elements were the color scheme of nude, peachy tones, light gold and silver, as well as simple makeup and slicked-back ponytails.

"These clothes are for women who want to be women," Macdonald said after the show. "Just have fun and enjoy fashion."

And as the models sashay down the catwalk, Julien’s stunning designs, awash with sequins, sparkles and eye-catching embellishment, come to life.

His new collection doesn’t disappoint – futuristic cut-away dresses with sheer panels that reveal serious amounts of flesh.

It’s a roaring success and Julien informs me: “Certain dresses have already been pre-booked for various red carpet ceremonies, including The Oscars. So watch this space!”
