What is the inspiration behind your work?
We’re inspired by the idea of living comfortably but at the same time, we consider the effects of having such luxury. Our brand designs and produces products according to the Cradle-to-Cradle principle. This means that all materials can be reused, all energy used is generated sustainably, and working conditions during production are fair.
What is your thought process like when creating new products?
We look closely at all aspects, every inch of design is important. The materials we use must come from natural sources. When designing, we want to use the material to its fullest potential. The human aspect in the production process is also very important. We want all our workers to have suitable working conditions. To date, we work at a local social space with the disabled to help them integrate into society.
What's next for reWrap?
Our goal is to become an inspiration for brands who’d like to create sustainable fashion. In order to do that, we’d like to show our Tree Bag collection to the world. I can’t say much, but behind the scenes, we’ve started looking at new materials as well...
Who is the reWrap girl or guy?
They are stylish and conscious consumers. Not only do they love beautiful, refined and natural products, they also love their environment and are willing to stand up for it.
Where do you find your daily source of inspiration?
We find inspiration in everything around us. From looking outside a window to walking my dog in the morning. Being open to what is around us makes us look at the world differently and in return, generates new ideas.
Why is it so important for you to make products that are Eco conscious/friendly?
It’s important to show that products can be made in an eco conscious way. I hope by showing that, our brand can begin to inspire others to do the same.
As a designer, what do you want your consumers to feel when they buy and use your bags?
We want them to feel proud. We want them to feel that they made a difference by taking action and being who they are. They make a statement by choosing to buy something completely sustainable, and I feel that is a reward within itself.
Which celebrity would you want to be the model or spokesperson for your brand?
I’m a big fan of Amber Valetta. Aside from being a model and actress, she is also an activist and businesswomen. She’s created a platform for designers whose main goal is to create eco conscious and sustainable products.
Which designer/brand would you like to make a collaboration with and why?
As strong believers in co-creation, we are open and excited to collaborate with those who stand for the same principles and want to make a difference together. It’s not limited to just fashion, other sectors are more than welcome to collaborate as well.
If you could describe your brand in 3 words, what would they be?
Conscious, Sustainable, Inspiring.
