Amazon, one the world’s biggest and leading online retailers, is gearing up to dive into the world of high fashion. According to a report published by WWD today, the retailer is currently in talks with high fashion and luxury goods e-commerce site Net-A-Porter.

The potential takeover will include all of Net-A-Porter Group, which would include their menswear sister site Mr. Porter. Net-A-Porter group is estimated to be worth approximately $1.31 billion and $1.64 billion, where Amazon’s total worth is estimated to be about $32.3 billion.

This will not be Amazon’s first venture into the realm of high fashion. The online retailer has been building its stock of luxury brands over the last few years, and is even collaborating with designer Osman Yousefzada for an Amazon exclusive capsule collection.

So far, neither Amazon nor Net-A-Porter have commented on these speculations.
