Stéphane Rolland Shows Us Sensuous Movement in Black and White in Paris



Fashion One invites you to take a look at the Stéphane Rolland Haute Couture for spring/summer 2015 shown in Paris.

The French designer is a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture and well known for his modern approach to couture with this season being no exception. In some ways a simple collection for a haute couture runway but by no means lacking, as sophisticated design and a flawless interaction with form transformed flowing fabrics into bold and captivating pieces with architectural and sculptural elements.

The collection was light and bright in predominantly simple black and white. Silver and gold accents were used sparingly and a few bronze and terracotta gowns created a palette like a sepia photograph perhaps referencing some vintage glamor in contrast to the fresh designs. Full skirted gowns with structured skirts drifted behind swishing trains and sprouting floral details on a stunning black jumpsuit created a striking sharp silhouette while soft flowing lines of cape dresses and gowns paid particular attention to movement. Details included dazzling metallic silver pouring out from the cut outs of a caped creations, flower embellishments and an oversized bow.

The feeling of lightness was heightened with layers stripped away and cut out sections revealing the structures underneath the skirts of the gowns, or transparent side panels revealing the structures of the figures themselves.
