Fashion One presents: Tokyo Fashion Week Trends to Follow for Summer 2013

Tokyo Fashion Week has shown us the new trends of summer 2013 through four key brands. Starting with la Jolie Madame embodied by Yasutoshi Ezumi. After having lived in England as a student at Central Saint Martins College, and as an assistant at Alexander McQueen, Yasutoshi launched his brand in 2010, developing an elegant and classic ready-to-wear, perfectly highlighting women's curves.

Romance is still an important trend in Japan whereby Somarta is a good example. Former team member at Issey Miyake, the designer Tamae Hirokawa continues to study materials, particularly lace that she reworks conceptually. Her new and rather ethereal silhouettes resemble romantic heroines from the last century.

After the romance, the play of volumes are set for next season, perfectly created at Shiroma. Around the soft colours, designer Shiho Shiroma offers a variety of wrapped clothing and cocoon jackets which have become her trademark.

Finally a trendy urban style exudes from all the designers, particularly at Jun Okamoto where we spot the basics like the suit, the trench coat or the shirt for summer reinvented in a youthful and quirky spirit.
