A Modern Edge: See by Chloé Resort 2013

The iconic fashion brand Chloé has just released a lookbook for their bridge line, See by Chloé. The latest images reflect the label’s chic aesthetic, complete with streamlined silhouettes, relaxed separates and innovative textile use. Julia Frauche serves as the fresh face for the Resort 2013 collection, dressed in oversized dress pants, retro jumpsuits and layered knits. The inspiration for the pieces is said to come from the Californian desert, which is evident in the dusty rose and magentas, terracotta and caramel browns, as well as lavender and ocean blue color palettes. Amidst these soft hues, bold additions of mirrored metallic embellishments can be found on coats, skirts, and the new trend: cap-toed shoes. Leather is another staple for the See by Chloé Resort collection. Designs highlighted the supple fabric on trapeze dresses, slouchy pants, Bermuda shorts, fitted cropped jackets and large satchels. Leather used in conjunction with patterned sweaters and silky blouses is a genius combination; it creates a sense of ease and wearability, while still looking polished.
